FIREFIGHTERS used specialist cutting equipment to help rescue the driver of a van involved in a collision on the M6 southbound at the junction 21 exit slip road near Woolston.
Crews attended the scene and found one person was trapped in a van which had overturned near to the roundabout.
The team used specialist cutting equipment to release the man and hew was then passed to the care of paramedics.
Firefighters were detained at the scene for approximately 40 minutes.
A full closure was placed on the southbound exit slip road while recovery work was undertaken.
