Robin Hood spreads some festive cheer in town

CAST members from this year’s Parr Hall panto have spread a little festive cheer in Warrington town centre.
Zoe Clarke and Ed Leigh, aka Robin Hood and Snarley from Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood, performed songs and greeted shoppers and also went to the Maker’s Market in Queen’s Gardens.
Accompanied by some backstage friends and their pop-up trailer, the talented duo entertained shoppers while sharing the message that the 2019 pantomime will be bigger and better than ever.
Ed said he thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the people of Warrington and hoped he would see many of them again when the panto comes to town in January.
He said: “Everyone was really friendly and welcoming and we got a brilliant response to our singing.
“It was great to receive so much positive feedback and we loved meeting some of the boys and girls who will hopefully come and see us when we return to Parr Hall after Christmas.”
The production will follow the wicked and greedy Prince John who is desperate to become King.
His brother King Richard’s children stand between him and the throne of England so he orders the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham to have them kidnapped and killed.
The sheriff in turn orders his hopeless henchman Snarley to carry out the work but he can’t go through with killing them and instead abandons them in the woods.
But help is at hand in the form of Robin Hood and the bumbling Silly Billy and Nurse Nellie.
