Cricket club to hold its annual general meeting

GLAZEBURY Cricket Club will be holding its annual general meeting on Thursday, November 29.
This year the meeting will be held at the Village Club (formerly the Royal British Legion) in Wigshaw Lane, Culcheth and will start at 7.30pm
Afterwards, the annual prize presentation will take place.
All members, including juniors and their parents, are being encourage to attend – along with prospective new members.
A club spokesman said: “We would welcome new members for next year’s season – beginners or experienced players of any standard.”
Members will have an opportunity to discuss future plans – and a number  of key positions are currently vacant on the club committee.
These include the club development officer, the league representative, the fixtures secretary, the press officer and, crucially, some groundsmen to work alongside grounds maintenance manager Simon Green.
First XI skipper Anthony Meulman and Second XI skipper Wayne Hargreaves are understood to be prepared to carry on, although this is subject to them being re-elected at the meeting.
