PLANS for a stable block and equestrian area on land at Rixton with Glazebrook have been given the go-ahead by Warrington planning chiefs.
The scheme is on land adjacent to Mount Pleasant Farm, in Glazebrook Lane and the scheme was opposed by Rixton with Glazebrook Parish Council.
Members of the borough council’s development management committee were told the application related to an area of green belt lane within the farm.
Permission was sought to change the use of the land for a livery stable and small paddock area for the private use of the occupants of the farm.
The proposals included installation of post and rail fencing to define the paddock area and a concrete yard would be created within the envelope of he stable block and a new access track laid out to link the stables with the existing farm and the road network.
The parish council’s objection related to the visual impact of the stables on Glazebrook Lane but planning officers said the use of the land around the stable as a small paddock would preserve the openness of the area
