Two taken to hospital following collision at Stretton

TWO people were taken to Warrington Hospital following a two vehicle collision at Stretton earlier today.

Firefighters, police and paramedics attended at the scene on Tarproley Road to rescue a person trapped in one of the vehicles following the collision between a van and a car at around 9.25am.

The road was closed by the police in both directions as emergency services worked at the scene.

Firefighters extricated a casualty from one of the vehicles and handed them over to the care of paramedics. A woman suffered stomach injuries and a man leg injuries.

Fire crews also made the vehicles safe.

They were in attendance for around an hour-and-a-half.
