Man arrested on suspicion of murder following woman’s death


A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 49-year-old woman at Warrington.
Police were called to stables at Old Alder Lane, Burtonwood shortly after 10pm last night (Friday) following reports expressing concern for the welfare of a woman.
Sadly, the woman died at the scene and her death is being treated as suspicious. A 50-year-old man was arrested.
Detective InspectorI Adam Waller said: “As part of our enquiries we are keen to speak to any potential witnesses or view any dashcam footage from anyone who had travelled along Alder Lane near to the “Fiddle I’th Bag” public house or Old Alder Lane in Burtonwood between the hours of 7pm and 10pm.
“If you were in the area around this time and have any information or have dashcam footage please submit it using our dashcam submission form.
“The area is quite rural but there is a pub nearby so there is likely to have been some traffic around this time.
“I’d like to reassure residents that we are working tirelessly to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and are providing an increased presence in the area.”
