A SPECIAL day to celebrate 100 years since the end of World War 1 is planned at Grappenhall Library on Sunday, November 11 – Armistice Day
The library friends are to celebrate the artists, poets and writers of that period and there will also be music and reading – along with tea and cakes.
A wonderful wave of poppies has been created by volunteers and the celebrations will go on between 2.30-4.30pm.
The event is free – but donations to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal will be welcome.
Further details can be obtained from the library on 01925 268077.
Grappenhall Library was re-opened by volunteers in 2012 after the original library fell victim to borough council cutbacks.
Since then it has expanded is activities and developed into a multi-purpose community centre – but still run by volunteers.
