Library car park to be extended

PLANNING chiefs have approved an extension to the car park at Burtonwood Library to enable it to be upgraded to meet current design standards.
The extension will consist of 290 sq metres of tarmac and will enable the carpark to be marked out and facilities provided for disabled users.
An additional 13 parking spaces will be provided, making a total of 18 and the scheme will provided improved visibility splays onto Chapel Lane. The boundary of the site will remain unchanged.
Two neighbours expressed concern about the potential for increased noise if the car park was used outside library opening hours, but planners said any increase in activity within the car park would be unlikely to have sufficient impact on neighbours to justify refusing planning consent.
