Village to host Warrington Wolves charity dinner

VILLAGE Hotel Club in Centre Park Square is hosting a star-studded community dinner to raise money for the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation.

Taking place on Saturday October 27, guests will include top comedian Adam Hills, Sky Sports presenter Angela Powers and Warrington Wolves chairman Stuart Middleton.

The event is part of Village Hotel Club’s nationwide campaign, The Village Green, which will see the business roll out a range of charity and community initiatives across its 30 hotels.

As the charitable arm of Warrington Wolves Rugby League Club, the Foundation was created to provide life changing opportunities through sport, education, health and the arts which enrich, inspire and celebrate the Warrington community.

The dinner will focus on the community coming together to celebrate the work of the Foundation, including the first-year design students of Priestly College who will be designing and creating centre pieces for the event that reflect the culture and community of Warrington.

The event will kick off in style as Priestley BTEC Dance students treat guests to a performance of disco funk Boogie Wonderland. The night will be compered by Sky Sports presenter Angela Powers.

Comedian Adam Hills, who will be the special guest on the night, said: “It is great to be supporting this event with Village Hotel Club for the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation.

“I am in awe of the amount of good work the Wolves Foundation does throughout Warrington. I’ve seen first-hand the positive impact the Foundation had while setting up the UK’s first Disability Rugby League Teams, both for Learning and Physical Disabilities.

“Whether it’s for people with disabilities, the elderly, children or for men’s health – the Wolves Foundation isn’t just at the heart of the club, it’s at the heart of the town.”

The dinner comes as the hotel and health club chain announced a commitment in September to spend more than 30,000 hours per year volunteering in the local community.

Each hotel will encourage 10 employees per month to spend a day with any charitable or community project they wish.

In addition, every hotel will dedicate one day per month to supporting local sporting groups or events and will also adopt a local charity for the year.

General Manager of Village Hotel Club Warrington, Donn Timmons said: “Village Hotel Club Warrington is dedicated to supporting our local community and we are proud to be able to celebrate the work of the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation with this great event – and hopefully raise lots of money for them as well!

“We look forward to announcing the details of our volunteering campaign as part of The Village Green in the next few weeks, which will show our commitment to being much more than a hotel, but a business that tries to be at the heart of our community.”

Tickets for the dinner are still available and can be purchased by visiting the Village Hotel Club website at the link below or calling 01925 377540.

The cost is £40 per person, with a special offer of a table for ten at £360.
