WARRINGTON North MP Helen Jones is urging people to make submissions to the latest HS2 consultation on Phase 2b which includes the spur which goes through the Warrington area.
The consultation will be open until December 21 at 11.45pm – and the MP says people should respond to them as their views will be used to develop the proposals.
There will be two further consultation events in the borough – at REixton on November 14 and at Culcheth on November 28.
The consultations are on:
* The working draft Environmental Statement that describes the potential environmental effects of building and operating Phase 2b; as well as proposed ways to avoid, reduce, mitigate and monitor the effects;
* The working draft Equality Impact Assessment Report that considers the potential effects of the construction and operation of Phase 2b on people with protected characteristics.
Ms Jones said: “I urge people to get involved and make submissions to the consultation. HS2 have said that feedback will be used to develop their proposals and will help shape the report which will be submitted to Parliament alongside the Hybrid Bill in mid-2020.
“The consultation is open until 11.45pm on December 21 and there will be two information events in Warrington which I hope people will attend – November 14 in Rixton and November 28 in Culcheth.

“ Details on the consultation and how to make a contribution can be found at www.hs2.org.uk/phase2bhttp://www.hs2.org.uk/phase2b If any changes are to be made they will only stand a chance of occurring if enough people make their views known through these consultations.”
