Families celebrate National Fitness Day

Fitness fans flocked to the Halliwell Jones stadium to Celebrate National Fitness Day by joining a Fit To Tackle session.

On this year’s National Fitness Day , yesterday (Wednesday) LiveWire hosted two circuit-based Fit To Tackle sessions at the Halliwell Jones Stadium for all Warrington residents.

The Fit To Tackle sessions offered everyone the chance to enjoy a group ‘circuit-based’ fitness class, which caters for all ages and fitness abilities. There was a great turnout for both sessions with people of all ages and fitness levels coming together to be put through their paces by the Livewire staff and Fit To Tackle mentors.

Participants enjoyed a run around the stadium including climbing up and down the steps, press ups, squats, tyre obstacles and the dreaded burpees.

National Fitness Day is an annual campaign that celebrates the fun of fitness and physical activity, while highlighting the benefits that leading an active lifestyle can have on our overall health.

Neil Morley, Senior LiveWire Advisor at LiveWire, said: “We’re thrilled to be supporting National Fitness Day. At LiveWire, we are always looking for new ways to motivate people to try new things and inspire them to live an active lifestyle, and National Fitness Day has become an incredible platform for doing so. ”

“We would like to encourage as many residents as possible to join us on Wednesday 26 September at 7pm or 8pm for a Fit To Tackle circuit-based session at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. This will be a fantastic fun event which caters for all ages and fitness abilities. Come along and join us in supporting the efforts to inspire physical activity across the nation on National Fitness Day.”

Participants were encouraged to donate £2 to raise money for St Rocco’s Hospice.
