BENTS Garden & Home teamed up with Mortons Dairies to ‘gear up’ for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday this week.

Every year, the garden and home centre in Glazebury, near Warrington, takes part in the national event and is joined by customer and colleagues who join in to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

So far, the business has raised nearly £40,000 since it began supporting the initiative.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday 28th September is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. Last year it raised more than £27 million.

Colleagues from Bents teamed up to promote the event with Mortons Dairies, the region’s largest dairy, which was on hand to donate a mountain bike for a ‘reverse auction’ being held on the day in aid of the charity.

Matthew Bent, managing director of Bents, said: “Our coffee morning gets more popular every year and we enjoy working with ourcolleagues and key suppliers to make it a fun morning for our visitors who are fantastic supporters of this initiative.

“Macmillan does incredible work in our local community and it provides valuable support to help from the moment of a cancer diagnosis so that people can live a life as fully as they can. We are grateful of the support from Mortons Dairies and all our other suppliers as we raise funds for this important charity.”

Julian Harrison, manging director of Mortons Dairies, said: “We are pleased to once again lend our support to Bents and Macmillan for this incredible fundraiser. Many of our staff and their families have been directly supported by Macmillan and it is a charity very close to our hearts.”
