Latchford crash 54-14 in semi-final

A DISASTROUS opening 20 minutes saw Latchford Albion fall 54-14 at Walney Central in the semi final play off stage of their division one campaign.
The long journey to Cumbria seemed to affect the Latchford players and they were shell shocked when the hosts ran in four converted tries to open up a comfortable lead early on.
Centre Adam Wadsworth did cross for Albion to reduce the deficit but two further scores by Walney, effectively saw the game over as a contest, and by half time Walney led 34-4.
Credit must be given to Albion who at least gained some respect with a good second half showing, with Phil Woollacott and Jake Ashton crossing and Chris Griffiths converting one. But it was mere consolation as Latchford suffered a disappointing end to their campaign.
