Latchford tame the Tigers with 78th minute try

LATCHFORD Albion ended the regular season with a nail-biting victory over Widnes Tigers.
A 78th minute try from Jake Ashton saw Albion edge the high scoring encounter.
With Albion taking to the field, for the first time in six weeks, the performance was a bit rusty but allows Latchford to enter next week’s play off semi finals with a good level of confidence.
Tries were shared between Chris Griffiths (2), Lewis Johnston (2), Chris Brown, Daniel Brown and Jake Ashton, with Johnston adding six conversions for a personal haul of 20 points.
Next Saturday Albion make the long trip to Walney Central in the division one play off semi final.
With Latchford’s Victoria Park Arena being chosen to host the final, it gives extra incentive for what will be a difficult game against a physical Cumbrian side.
