Councillor’s anger over eyesore site

A CULCHETH councillor has reacted angrily to borough council claims that there is no visual amentity problem in Church Lane.
Cllr Keith Bland said the plot of land opposite Smith Garage – formerly a nursery – had been vacant for at least three years.
Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council had reported the state of the land to the borough council on a number of occasions.
He said: “We reported it again, asking for the site to be cleared up because it was an eyesore, a couple of months ago.
“The borough replied claiming they had checked it out and found there was no problem as it wasn’t affecting the visual amenity of the area.
“All I can say is that whoever the officer was who came down to inspect it really does need to go to an opticians
“The site is a disgrace and the residents in that area deserve better.”
