PLANS for a detached dormer bungalow in the grounds of Bowling Green Farm, Mill Lane, Winwick have been approved by borough planning chiefs.
The scheme was approved despite objections from nearby residents and the fact that similar proposals had been refused on three previous occasions – and was turned down on appeal
Eight objections were received from neighbours. They claimed the new dwelling would be oppressive and overbearing and would be out of keeping with other properties in the area.
There were also concerns about loss of privacy and damaging impacts on the views from and setting of Bowling Green Farm and other nearby properties.
Planning officers disputed claims that Bowling Green Farm was a listed building or that the site was in the Green Belt or a conservation area.
Theysaid the development had been scaled down from earlier applications which had been refused – and the borough’s development management committee approved the scheme.
