Shop assistants attacked by shop raider

POLICE investigating an attempted robbery at a local store in Warrington are urging witnesses to come forward.
It was shortly after 10pm last night that a man walked into the Local Express shop on Concorde Place, Orford and attacked the shop assistant working inside.
He then demanded money from the till before assaulting another member of staff.
Both store assistants managed to leave the shop and the man walked away in the direction of Grasmere Avenue
A 35-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery.
Detective Constable Michael McDermott, of Warrington CID, said: “As part of my enquiries I am urging anyone who may have seen the incident take place or has any information to come forward and call police on 101.”
