Boy hit in face during attempted robbery

DETECTIVES at Warrington have appealed for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was hit in the face during an attempted robbery.
A 37-year-old man has already been arrested on suspicion oi attempted robbery, but police are still seeking help from people who may have seen the incident in Greenwood Crescent, Orford.
It was shortly before 7pm last night when the incident occured.
The youngster was riding his bike along Greenwood Crescent when he was approached by a man who asked him if he could ride his bike.
When the boy refused, the offender hit him across his face, causing an injury to his lip.
The man then walked away in the direction of Humber Road.
Detective Constable Michael McDermott, of Warrington CID, said: “This was a shocking unprovoked attack leaving the teenage boy quite shaken.
“I would encourage anyone who may have any information or have seen the incident take place to come forward and call 101.”
