A WARRINGTON man has been jailed for more than six years for stabbing a man outside a nightclub.
Zane Dahou, 20, of Radcliffe Avenue, Culcheth, was jailed at Liverpool Crown Court after pleading guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The court was told the victim and Dahou had an argument inside the Showbar Nightclub, on Friars Gate, Warrington, in the early hours of Sunday April 8.
The pair and a friend of Dahou’s went outside and the victim threw a punch at Dahou.
Dahou then stabbed him to the chest, puncturing a lung and his spleen, which needed surgery.
Dahou and his friend ran off and were later arrested by officers. When they searched him they discovered a knuckle duster and found the knife used in the stabbing in a bush nearby.
Detective inspector Helena Banusic said: “This case is a classic example of why people shouldn’t carry knives. An argument in a nightclub has left the victim with a significant injury which needed surgery and Dahou behind bars.
“Violence and knife crime is absolutely unacceptable and we are pleased the judge has reflected the seriousness of this crime during sentencing.”
Dahou was jailed for six years and nine months.
