APPLETON ended their season in the Cheshire Women’s Cricket League with a 10-wicket win at Stockport Trinity.
The victory ensured Appleton were second in the final division one league table 21 points adrift of champions Oakmere – the only team to beat them in any competition this summer as their 1st team bagged the T20 double.
Trinity were restricted to 101-7, with Abbey Gore taking 3-4 for Appleton.
Openers Emma Barlow, 56 not out and Holly McCurrie, 45 not out, knocked off the runs for Appleton ending what turned out to be a highly successful season-long opening partnership.
