An evening to remember the fallen and celebrate peace

TICKETS are now on sale for a special evening to remember and honour those who have lost their lives in conflicts and to celebrate the end of the First World War and the peace that followed.

Festival of Remembrance, Celebration and Peace 2018, being staged by Warrington Male Voice Choir is taking place at the Parr Hall, Warrington on Saturday, November 3, starting at 7pm.

Warrington Male Voice Choir originally created the idea of a Warrington evening to remember and honour the fallen to mark the centenary of World War One and, as a result, the Festival of Remembrance has been staged annually since 2014.

However, this year’s event, while still remembering the fallen, will also recognise and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of Word War One and the peace that followed.

As in previous years, the evening will feature Warrington Male Voice Choir, The Combined Bands of The Lancashire Artillery & The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, Service Cadet contingents, a Drumhead Service of Remembrance & Reflection led by The Revd Canon Paul Wilson and audience sing-along. In a move to further strengthen the involvement of young people, The Choir of Great Sankey High School & Barrow Hall College will be taking part for the first time.

The evening will help raise money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2018 & Combat Stress.

Tickets are £10 (Under 16s – £5) and can be bought by ringing 01925 442345, visiting www.pyramidparrhall.com or in person from the Pyramid/Parr Hall ticket office.
