Warrington Fire Station Open Day

WARRINGTON Fire Station is opening its doors to the public this weekend for a family event that promises something for all ages.

The Winwick Road fire station will be open to the public from 11am to 4pm on Sunday September 2.

Watch Manager Lee Marland said: “This is a great way for the community to discover more about their local fire station and learn about some of the work we undertake.

“This year’s event is extra special as it comes just weeks after the fire station celebrated its 50th anniversary.

“To celebrate the event we’ll have a range of vintage and modern fire engines on display to show how much the fire and rescue service has changed over the past 50 years.

“We’ll also be doing a range of operational demonstrations throughout the day, including road traffic collision and height safety demonstration.

“We would like as many people as possible to come along to the open day, have a great time and leave with some vital safety messages to help keep them safe in the future.”

The event is free to attend and refreshments will be available to buy throughout the day.
