Airport parking scheme thrown out by planners

PLANS for an airport parking site catering for up to 700 cars on a former nursery site have been thrown out by Warrington planning chiefs.
The scheme, involving land at the former Caddicks nursery, at Thelwall, attracted major opposition from 136 residents, Lymm Parish Council, Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council and borough councillors Ian Marks and Anna Fradgeley.
Members of the borough council’s development management committee voted to refuse the application by Cheshire Airport Parking Ltd.
The scheme would have involved demolition of all the buildings on the site except one that would be retained for office purposes.
