Police appeal after woman “forced into car” in early hours

DETECTIVES at Warrington are appealing for information following an incident in which a woman was apparently forced into a car and driven away..
The incident was at around 1.35am on Sunday when two vehicles were seen parked on Thornton Road, near to the junction of West Drive, when an altercation occurred between two men and a woman.
One vehicle is described as an old grey hatchback and the other is described as a white Audi A3. The woman is believed to have been forced into the white vehicle before it drove away onto West Drive.
Detective Constable Jordan Trentini said: “We are currently trying to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident and appealing for anyone who may have seen a woman in distress while getting into the vehicle.
“At this stage it is unclear what has exactly taken place and we just need to confirm that the woman is safe and well.
“I would like to reassure the local community that we have received no further reports similar to this incident. If you have any information please call us on 101.”
