THE English Half Marathon is returning to Warrington for its 10th year this September and has teamed up with the Village Hotel to offer runners exclusive deals at their Warrington base.
With thousands of runners travelling to Warrington on race weekend, the Village Hotel homes many EHM participants coming to the town. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to Victoria Park, which is the location for the EHM 5k, which starts at 8pm on the Friday evening.
The Village Hotel will be hosting the ‘EHM Pasta Party’, this takes place on Saturday September 15 between 5-7pm. The pasta party is a great way for runners to get together pre-race, meet the pacing team plus chat with some of the race crew. Tickets are available via the EHM website along with all the information you will need.
The hotel will also be present at the GS Active Lifestyle Expo, which will be held in the Old Market Square. The expo is brand new to the event and takes place on the Friday and Saturday of race week. The expo is another addition to the running weekend for those who have come from further afield to take part.
Race director Rob Griffiths said: “We are pleased to have the Village Hotel on board, the hotel will be offering our runners exclusive offers for the hotel and the gym. We will also be holding social runs from the hotel, which will be a great way to get local runners together pre-race for training tips and a run around the local area. Our pasta party was a huge success in 2017, so I hope with the support of the Village we can make this year even better.”
With over 20,000 people set the visit the town for this EHM from all across the country, the event is now a staple in the town’s calendar. Places are now limited across all distances so anyone thinking of taking part should register now to avoid missing out.
