SPORTS therapist Jason Pastel from JP Sports Therapy is now offering regular clinic sessions at Lymm Osteopathic Practice, Grammar School Road in Lymm.

Jason holds a Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Clinical Sports Therapy. He is also a registered practitioner with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council and a member of the Sports Therapy Organisation and fully insured.

He splits his time between clinics, currently he is also the sports therapist at the Body Box Gym in Stockport and has a depth of experience covering sports therapy at a variety of sporting events in the region.

Jason specialises in sports massage and therapy which also includes kinesiology taping. He uses specific techniques designed to reduce injuries, alleviate inflammation and help prepare athletes for peak performance, this is also used to improve the mobility of non-sporting people.

Some of the techniques Jason uses include deep friction massage, soft tissue release, neuromuscular techniques, trigger point therapy, myo-fascial release and joint mobilisations.

The benefits of these techniques include the stripping out tight muscles, treating strained muscles and sprained ligaments, improving recovery between training and competitions, helping to prevent a minor injury developing and becoming worse as well as restoring energy.

Examples of conditions that can be treated using these methods include headaches and migraines, recovery from injuries, frozen shoulder and shoulder pain, muscle strains, postural issues, muscle tensions and spasms and sciatica symptoms.

Sports massage therapy is perfect for both the sports and non-sporting person alike. Conditions such as shoulder and back pain restricts people’s daily life and can significantly limit mobility.

If you are running an endurance event such as a 5k, 10k or half marathon sports massage therapy can reduce post event and training muscle soreness, lactic acid build-up and help improve your recovery time.
