THE English Half Marathon returns to Warrington with more volunteers than ever giving their time to help the ever growing event.

Organisers say volunteers are up by 50 per cent on last year for the popular event which is now in its 10th year and takes place on Sunday, September 16.

The event attracts thousands of runners year after year, and volunteers are pivotal in ensuring the event runs smoothly.

This year volunteers from King’s Church, Warrington Scouts, Lymm Hockey Club, St Rocco’s to name a few,  are signed up to help. These teams of people will assist in a variety of ways, such as water stations, handing out medals and packing goody bags.

Race director Rob Griffiths said “ It is great to see that in our 10th year, the race has not only captured the imagination of runners but also that of the local community. All who seem very keen to promote their causes and also give a bit Warrington welcome to all of the visitors from across the UK and overseas.

If you think you or your local group would like to get involved then head over to the EHM website, www.run-ehm.com for all the information you need.

Volunteers will all receive a t-shirt plus a small donation to the club/group they are part of. Once again this key event in the towns calendar is set to be another great year.

warrington-worldwide has been a key sponsor and media partner for the event this year, helping find the first “Run Hero.”
