Male arrested at Howley following hoax firearms incident

A male has been arrested in the Howley area of Warrington accused of making a hoax call to police in relation to a firearms incident.

The hoax call resulted in the deployment of numerous officers into the area looking to secure a scene and check on the welfare of any possible victims.

It also impacted on the NHS who received a call telling them to expect a gunshot victim at Warrington hospital.

The male has been taken into custody.
