New gates will improve security at school

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington have given the go-ahead for the construction of vehicle and pedestrian gates at the Knutsford Road access to Sir Thomas Boteler CE High School.
The gates – which will be dark green in colour – will be set back from Knutsford Road to ensure vehicles are able to stop off the highway without disrupting traffic.
Both gates will be 2.4 metres in height.
Members of the borough council’s development management committee were told the gates would provide improved security to the school.
The colour and design of the gates would ensure that did not cause visual disruption to the site, or adjacent sites.
A condition has been imposed that the gates should open inwards only, for safety reasons.
