MAYOR of Warrington Cllr Karen Mundry was on hand to launch the third annual Latchford Duck race which helps raise funds for the local community.
The Mayor was joined by her husband and fellow Latchford East ward Cllr. Hans Mundry at the event which takes place at Warrington Rowing Club, on the banks of the River Mersey, each year.
Local businesses, including warrington-worldwide, sponsored large “corporate ducks” while 1,000 smaller ducks were purchased by members of the public.
The ducks are then thrown off Kingsway Bridge into the River Mersey, with prizes for first pass the finishing line.
The winners will be announced later.
