VIDEO: YOUNGSTERS flocked to the annual VPX event at Warrington’s Victoria Park in huge numbers.
A long queue was waiting at the gates as the event, now in its 11th year, officially opened, providing free entertainment for young people.
The brainchild of local PCSO Tony Spruce, supported by Paul Flannery from LiveWire and a host of other key partners in the community, including Cheshire Police and Warrington Borough Council, the free event will take place on the next three Tuesdays during the school holidays, from 11am to 4pm.
Thanking all those who support the event Tony hopes it will be another record breaking success after attracting around 13,000 visitors last year.
Tony launched the event as a way of keeping youngsters busy and off the streets during the school holidays and it has grown in stature year on year.
“Hopefully by trying out out some of the free activities they will develop hobbies and interests which will help keep them off the streets,” said Tony.
Deputy Mayor of Warrington Cllr Wendy Johnson was on hand to help launch the event with Police & Crime Commissioner David Keane.
