ORGANISERS of FamFest Warrington, a new family focused festival due to come to Warrington next month, have today announced the difficult and heart-breaking decision to cancel the event.

The festival was set to take place at Orford Jubilee Park on Sat 11 and Sun 12 August, but due to unforeseen circumstances, organisers have had to cancel the festival for 2018.

Ticket holders will be able to get a full refund by contacting the ticketing agent that they purchased tickets through.

For questions regarding refunds please contact: TicketQuarter on 0344 8000 410 or Quay Tickets on 0843 208 0500

Festival Director Pete Pinnington said: “It is with huge regret and disappointment that I have had to cancel FamFest Warrington from taking place. It’s always been an ambition of mine to host a family festival in my hometown of Warrington and I’ve put a huge amount of time, effort and money into the planning and preparation for this event. It’s heart-breaking that due to time constraints and mounting costs, the event cannot go ahead.

“The decision was not made lightly, but with unexpected expenses increasing, I would have had to scale back the festival in order to proceed, and I wasn’t prepared to compromise on the quality of event I had promised to the public.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank those businesses, ticket holders and media who have supported FamFest Warrington, and sincerely apologise for any disappointment and inconvenience caused”.

The festival had been set to feature Warrington singer Mo Jamil, winner of The Voice along with some of the World’s Best tribute acts paying homage to stars like Little Mix, Michael Jackson and Ariana Grande.

The two day event had also been scheduled to include live shows and performances by Beauty & The Beast, The Minions, Mister Maker and Basil Brush and much more.

  1. With less than 3 weeks to go surely costs etc were already realised so what has suddenly changed or escalated? Surely any acts booked for the event will still have to be paid even if it’s just by way of a cancellation fee.
Such a shame it’s been cancelled as a lot of people were looking forward to it and had bought tickets. Couldn’t the council or Cultural Warrington bods (or any other party) step in an help rather than it just being cancelled?
Not much info on the website other than the holding page saying it’s been cancelled and everything else has gone. Ah well 🙁
