Keep the little ones busy at Bents Garden & Home

BENTS Garden & Home at Glazebury has got the summer holidays sorted with a range of ideas to keep the little ones moving and their minds active.

In addition to Bents’ Indoor Beach and Outdoor Play Area, which are both free and open throughout the summer providing plenty of places to run, jump and generally have fun, Jurassic Cove Adventure Golf is also a must visit for all the family.

Recently extended to 18 holes, the golf course now features pesky pirates and creatures of the deep as well as life sized, moving dinosaurs, all ready to challenge players young an old.  And to celebrate the arrival of Bents’ resident dinosaurs, mermaids and pirates, the team from the Children’s Boutique will be in their best fancy dress costumes every Sunday throughout August.  Little ones can come and join the fun with a treat for everyone who dresses up.

The Children’s Boutique will also be home to face painting and a number of crafting activities throughout the holidays including bird box painting, slime making demonstrations, biscuit decorating and mug & matching coaster painting…dates and booking details for each event can be found at bents.co.uk.

Other dates for the diary include Saturday August 11 when Bents interactive eco-explorer nature trail is brought to life with garden creatures including snails, frogs, toads, millipedes and mice all waiting to be discovered.  Eco Explorer Critter Time provides the perfect opportunity for mini adventurers to grab a magnifying glass and have a closer look at these little creatures.

Wednesday August 29 sees the return of the Great Bents Bake Off.  Budding bakers should bring their entries to Bents by 2pm when Head Baker, Claire Mackintosh, will take on the role of Prue Leith and judge the winner.  Once again there will be three age groups (under 8s, 9 – 16, 17 and over) with a winner and runner up in each.  Winning bakers will receive hampers of baking goodies and runners up will take away vouchers worth £10.

As well as entertainment for the little ones, Bents also provides the perfect place for the grown-ups to relax and take time out with six delicious dining destinations offering everything from freshly made coffee and home-made cake, to Mediterranean style tapas with a glass of wine.  And with guided dog walks, wine tasting and a summer lawn care event, the summer holidays are sorted for every member of the family.
