WARRINGTON Town secured their first win, and goals, of pre-season as they beat Runcorn Town 4-1.

Paul Carden once again fielded an experimental side, with four trialists in the starting line-up.

It was a trialist that put the hosts ahead on 23 minutes, before former Football League striker Richard Brodie crossed for Josh Amis to equalise for the Yellows.

Amis, who was an early substitute for the injured Jamie McDonald, headed the Yellows in front on 51 minutes and midfielder Ben Garrity made it 3-1 on the hour.

Tony Gray pounced on a mistake by the Runcorn goalkeeper for a fourth goal seven minutes from the end.

The Yellows are next in action on Tuesday night at home to Stockport County.
