Crews wanted for St Rocco’s Dragon Boat race

2

A NUMBER of late cancellations have left St Rocco’s Hospice short of boats for their annual Dragon Boat Race on the Mersey.
The race is on Sunday, July 29 at 9am, starting from Warrington Rowing Club’s headquarters near Kingsway Bridge.
The event goes on until around 2pm when Mayor of Warrington Cllr Karen Mundry will present the cup to the winning team.
Cost of registering a boat for the race is £400 – and it needs a crew of around 16 rowers, plus a drummer and a few reserves.
All the money raised goes on patient care at St Rocco’s .

  1. Do you need to have a ‘dragon boat’ yourselves or could a group of people get together to race and borrow one? I’d certainly be up for giving it ago and I’m sure some of my friends, family and other acquaintance would too but without a boat at our disposal how could we do it? Gary Skeltenbery….any idea?..and would you be up for it if we could somehow find a way? It’s all for a very worthy cause and so much fun too 😀
