Brown scores at Lionhearts sweep to another victory in Italy

LATCHFORD Albion’s Danny Brown was again one of the try scorers when the North West English Lionhearts played the second match of their three-match Italian tour.
This time it was a “Test match” with Italia Emerging, or Italy A, who provided sterner opposition than the Sicilian Select XIII who were the first opponents.
Even so, they were no match for the Lionhearts who swept to a 76-0 victory.
The Italians started brightly and tested the Lionhearts’ line defence from the opening kick-off, coming up just short of the whitewash on the far right from their opening set. The home team were clearly fired up early and taking their passion and pride on the pitch, however their resistance was broken with six minutes on the clock.
After that it was mostly one-way traffic despite some physical play by the home side, which resulted in a number of penalties.
Danny Brown’s try on the right took the score to 16-0.
The home side did manage one try – only to see it disallowed for a forward pass!
