Evening of Cultural Diversity – a veritable feast of fun.

WARRINGTON South MP Faisal Rashid hosted a hugely popular “Evening of Cultural Diversity” at Walton Hall and Gardens featuring food and entertainers from all over the globe.

The completely free event brought together a wide range of cultures and people for an evening of entertainment and marvellous food. It is held in association with Warrington Disability Partnership and is a part of the Disability Awareness Day week.

Mr Rashid first launched and hosted the event as Mayor of Warrington. Following the success of that event, he decided to again to run the event as the MP for Warrington South.

The impressive line up of entertainment featured performers drawn from the rich multi-cultural community from across Warrington and over 250 guests were treated to acts and performances from all around the world. On stage were Dohl Drillerz drummers, Robinson Downey Academy Irish dancers, A traditional Thai dance troop, JC Dance Acadamy, Fatima the belly dancer, Sonya performing traditional Indian dance, Karim Mbaye on the African drums, A.t. School of dance and Arabian Magic Night.

The huge range of diverse acts made for a most enjoyable and spectacular celebration of music, dance and song which emphasised the strength of the community bond within Warrington.

A splendid feast of Asian cuisine was provided by the excellent Cinnamon Lounge restaurant who laid on such dishes as samosas, bhajis, various curries, lamb Balti, rice, naan, deserts and soft drinks.

Mr. Rashid said “ “The Evening of Cultural Diversity event is a great way to appreciate and value the rich diversity of our town by bringing all of our communities together.”

“This is our Warrington. Tonight you can see people of all faiths and all communities all under one roof. This is our town and I am proud to live here. “
