VANDALS are believed to have started a fire on a children’s play area at Lymm last night.
The blaze was at the Ridgeway Grundy Memorial Park, off Maltman’s Road and reported shortly before midnight.
A fire crew from Lymm fire station went to the scene and discovered the blaze involved play equipment and rubber flooring in the children’s play area.
They used water to extinguish the flames and were at the scene for nearly half-an-hour.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately and anyone with information about it should call police on 101 or via the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555 111.
