Head coach Lee Smith quits Latchford Albion

HEAD coach Lee Smith has quit Latchford Albion with immediate effect.
The club committee received notice of his resignation today.
In a statement, the club said: “The club wishes to place on record their thanks to Lee, who has worked tirelessly since joining the club back in 2011. He leaves with the club in a much stronger position than when he first became involved within the coaching set up, with the club now running two competitive sides, and the first team competing for honours in the NWML Division One.
“Lee has truly become part of the Albion family and it is with sadness that his resignation was accepted.
“Moving forward, the opportunity now arises for a new challenge for the club. In the short term, current captain Danny Brown (pictured)  will step up and assist further with training, while chairman Mike Byron will also offer guidance and support.
“The vacancy for head coach is now open to any applicants who feel they can offer the relevant qualities required, as Albion enter a crucial stage of the season starting with a tough fixture when they host Pilkington Recs A this Saturday.”
