TWO fire crews attended a fire on Algernon Street, Warrington, caused by a faulty extension lead.

A crew from Penketh, assisted by colleagues from Manchester, were called out after the fire spread to a large amount of rubbish in a back garden.

Crews used a hose reel jet to bring the blaze under control and prevented it from spreading.
