Police launch CCTV appeal after 20-year-old woman sexually assaulted in town centre

POLICE have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to after a 20-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Warrington town centre during the early hours of Saturday.

The incident is believed to have occurred in an alleyway off Bridge Street in the early hours of Saturday, June 9.

DC Zoe Bowden said: “Enquires in relation to this incident are ongoing and the victim is receiving support from specially trained officers.

“As part of ongoing enquiries I’m keen to speak to the man featured in the CCTV image as I believe he may be able to assist with our investigation.

“I urge the man, or anyone who recognises him, to contact Cheshire Police on 101 so we can progress with our investigation.”

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident, or anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV image, is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 88336. Information can also be passed anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
