TWO health workers from Warrington have been invited to a ceremony at Westminster Abbey to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the National Health Service.
The event will also mark the contribution NHS staff across the country have made to the service over the last seven decades.
Pam Broadhead, chief performance officer at NHS Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and John Wharton, who recently retired as chief nurse at the CCG, will attend the prominent ceremony on July 5 – marking 70 years to the day since the NHS was founded.
Pam and John were nominated by Dr Andrew Davies, clinical chief officer at NHS Warrington CCG for their outstanding contribution to the health service in the borough.
Dr Davies said: “Collectively, Pam and John have totalled 74 years working solidly for the benefit of patients. So it is fitting to their dedication and hard work that their contributions to improving services for local people are recognised through their attendance at this event that will honour a vital and very special part of our NHS … its workforce.”
