£1,000 grants – for helping to improve people’s health

ASSURA Healthy Communities Fund is offering four grants of £1,000 to registered charities or community groups that can demonstrate how their project will improve health for people in Warrington in the coming year.
The healthcare property company, based on the Wilderspool Business Park, has announced a partnership with Dementia UK to support the charity’s free and specialist-led Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline this year, but is also looking for local health projects seeking funding.
Head of public affairs Claire Rick said: “We know from the staff and patients who use our primary care buildings that community groups and local charities are playing an increasingly important role in helping tackle health challenges – and that’s where our fund is aiming to help.
“We look forward to hearing from local charities and groups and to working with them over the next 12 months.”
Last year, Active Cheshire, Warrington Youth Club, Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation and BEAT, the eating disorders charity, all secured project funding from the scheme.
Any charity wanting to apply for a share of this year’s fund should visit https://www.assuraplc.com/making-a-difference/our-charity-work for more information and apply by Friday, June 29.
