FIREFIGHTERS wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to tackle a car fire at Glazebury, near Warrington early today.
The blaze, in Warrington Road, involved a 4-4 vehicle and had spread to a nearby garage.
Crews from Birchwood and Leigh went to the scene shortly before 1am and extinguished the blaze.
Afterwards, they used specialist cutting gear to open the vehicle and check for hot spots and also checked other nearby garages to ensure flames had not spread.
Crews were at the scene for about one and-a-half hours
