Pretty Muddy fun in the sun

GLORIOUS sunshine, blue skies and a sea of people wearing pink turned Warrington’s Victoria Park into a colourful spectacle for the start of this year’s Pretty Muddy.

It was the first time anywhere in the country that the event had included a children’s race.

With the event a complete sell out there were over 600 children and 1,800 women, including cancer survivors and people taking part in memory or celebration of a loved one, who came together for the Pretty Muddy Kids and Pretty Muddy events at Victoria Park.

The course featured many messy obstacles which saw competitors soaked with mud and water, probably a blessing given the heat of the day.

Women of all ages and abilities united to show their commitment to the cause and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Warrington Race for Life is the 1st in this year’s North West & North Wales calendar which includes 5k, 10k, Pretty Muddy, Pretty Muddy Kids, Hike, Shine and Half Marathon events across the region.

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, is an inspiring women-only series of 5k, 10k, Pretty Muddy, Half Marathon and Hiking events which raise millions of pounds every year to help beat cancer sooner by funding vital research.

Money raised through Race for Life will help Cancer Research UK scientists find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease, helping save more lives.

Once again the people of Warrington show what they can do and how well they can arrange these fantastic community events.
