0

WARRINGTON police are warning Lymm residents to be on their guard after receiving reports of potential rogue traders operating in the area, offering services for roof cleaning.

Reisdents are warned to follow the following guidance if anybody comes to their address:

If you haven’t already considered getting any work done don’t be pressured into agreeing to anything.
• Use a company that you know and trust.
• Make sure the company has a landline AND/OR a physical address. Ring the number and visit the address to verify this.
• Get written quotes so that you know the cost of everything BEFORE you agree to have any work done.
• Get written quotes from a few tradesmen.
• Do not agree to pay the tradesmen cash.
• Do not pay up front. Wait until the work is complete and you are happy with your work.
• Don’t make any quick decisions. If you are unsure, take some time to think about it. Some rogue tradesmen are very pressuring and persuasive.
• Check that Warranties and Guarantees are valid.
