Homes threatened by large blaze at Risley Moss

FIRE crews tackled a large fire on Risley Moss which threatened to reach homes in Gorse Covert.

Birchwood On Call were joined by crews from Lymm and Warrington to tackle the blaze on Friday night.

Meanwhile two fire crews, one from Birchwood and one from Warrington were called out to a kitchen fire at Valiant Close, Padgate during the eraly hours of this morning.(Sunday)

The fire which was reported at 3am was out on arrival but a 20-year old man was found to have sustained minor burns. He was initially treated by firefighters at the scene before being passed to the care of North West Ambulance Service.
