Yellows turn attention to Easter Monday after Whitby game called off

WARRINGTON Town will turn their attention to Easter Monday after their game at Whitby on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The Yellows were due to start their Easter programme with a trip to the north east, but the game was called off following a 9am pitch inspection.

Focus now moves to the visit of Witton Albion on Monday, with a 3pm kick-off at Cantilever Park.

A draw and a defeat in their last two outings mean that Pail Carden’s men are now six points behind Altrincham at the top of the table.

Witton, meanwhile, are down in seventh place chasing a play-off place.

Including Monday, Warrington still have nine games remaining to push for the title and the only automatic promotion spot.

A second place finish would guarantee a home semi-final and final in the play-offs, which involves teams placed second to fifth.
