A travellers’ encampment which has failed to vacate land owned by Warrington Borough Council for more than a week is now facing court action.

Four caravans and associated vehicles arrived on the council land on Longshaw Street, Warrington on March, six and following welfare checks were issued with a section 77 notice to vacate the land.

They have ignored the notice and a court hearing has now been listed for this Thursday (March 15) to seek an eviction notice.
