Man stabbed in face during hammer and knife attack

A man was stabbed in the face after being attacked by another using a hammer and knife at Orford, Warrington.

Police attended a report of a male attacking another with a hammer and a knife in the Grasmere Avenue area of Warrington, at 7am yesterday.

Patrols attended and found a victim who appeared to have been stabbed in the face.

The offender was swiftly identified and arrested at nearby address by patrols, and is now in police custody.

The victim was been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
